K.Flay kicks off 2024 with a compelling single titled Carsick. This release follows her amazing fifth studio album, MONO, which was dropped last year (read about and listen here). In her own words, she describes the new track with "It's about the moment you want to get off the ride, when the chaos isn’t fun anymore."

Accompanying the song is a visually striking visualizer. The camera rests on the floor, spinning ceaselessly, with K.Flay blurring at the center surrounded by saturated green lights. This visual spectacle cleverly alludes to the theme of feeling "carsick," enhancing the overall impact of the song.

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of that experience, with K.Flay navigating through traffic, the taste of metal on her tongue, and the disorienting sensation. The intensity builds as she recounts the aftermath of a wild night, leading to a profound realization of the impact of the journey. The refrain, "I'd die for you," echoes the intensity of the ride and the song, expressing a willingness to go to extremes for a fleeting moment. Yet, in the midst of stops, starts, crashes, and carnage, the artist reflects on the overwhelming those feelings.

This release adds another layer to her diverse musical catalog, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what artistic revelations she'll unveil next. With love for her fans, K.Flay expresses anticipation for what the future holds and a heartfelt acknowledgment that we are all in a constant state of evolution. Sharing the song on her social media she concludes with a poignant message: "2024 sounds like the future but it's actually the present *THE ONLY THING THAT'S REAL IS RIGHT NOW*. I'm planning some special things for this year (it's gonna be the 10 year anniversary of a certain record...) & i can't wait to share them with you. got to spend a lot of time with my nieces and nephews over the holiday and was reminded that all of us -- no matter our age -- are always learning and changing. pain leads to growth, and growth leads to joy." - @kflay.
